Past Editions

Twenty + Change: Emerging Talent

For the 5th edition of Twenty + Change in 2021, we partnered with Canadian Architect Magazine to produce the Emerging Talent edition. Coming off the heals of the pandemic when in-person exhibitions were still a challenge, Canadian Architect offered a way to extend the reach of the initiative and exposure for the firms through its 14,000+ subscriber, national circulation.

Twenty + Change: Next Generation

Heather Dubbeldam led the coordination of the Twenty + Change: Next Generation edition, including the production of the exhibition which launched at 401 Richmond’s Urbanspace Gallery, as well as authoring and editing the Next Generation publication.

Twenty + Change 02 & 03

Lola Sheppard was Co-Director, with Heather Dubbeldam, of the Twenty + Change 02 and 03 editions. She was also co-editor of the Twenty + Change 01, 02 and 03 publications. Lola is a founding Partner at Lateral Office, a design research firm focusing on architecture's intersections with infrastructure, ecology and environment, and an Associate Professor at the University of Waterloo School of Architecture.

Twenty + Change 01

Every great initiative begins with an idea combined with the determination to see it come to life. The first iteration of Twenty + Change, featuring emerging Toronto architecture practices, was conceived of and established by Superkül, the Toronto architecture and design firm led by Meg Graham and Andre D’Elia. Many were involved in the launch, led by Meg, Andre and Drew Sinclair — with significant contributions by Robert Downey and Tom Nemeskeri. Twenty + Change 01 was exhibited at the Gladstone Hotel in 2007 and featured 21 emerging Toronto practices. Heather Dubbeldam and Lola Sheppard produced the Twenty + Change 01 publication and assumed leadership of the initiative, broadening its scope to a national forum.
